The World is flat

I watched a video today in my digi-tools class called "The World is flat" by Thomas L. Friedman who talked about how the world is not ready for this technology that we have and that a lot of people are having ways of confusion by getting ahold of it.  PC allowed indiviudals to envolve & often their own content the world of a way of learning. Learned that Netscape didn't come public til 8-9-95 in California.  It was the first internet browser that started off at $28 and when it went public it was amazing how much of the results of when it went skyrocketed.

There are 3 great eras of gobalization: World 1.0 (a.d.-1420) World 2.0 (1420-2000) World 3 (2000-present).  IPO- Initial Public Offering was also something that I learned and had no idea what it meant.  It was the first Netscape browser that brought internet to life. Fire optic cable is what runs into back and forth from the internet. Global platform for multiple type of communications and there are many: Upload: to the internet. Download: off the internet. Open source software: free to the public online software.

The importment message that went across in my head is: "whatever can be done will be done the only question left is will it be done by you or to you." which is one of the iron rules of business to remember.  How i feel is what this video was trying to teach me is how so much of the world be flatter and what needs to be learned and known. It is a way of life and that it should not ever be taught when we are bringing new borns in the world and coming up with all this new technologly people don't no what to do with it. It's really up for us to decide whether we want to or not.

  1. I think we all should live by the iron rule of business to have a successful future. It makes sense that way :)

  2. Cassi, What does this saying mean to you? Does it motivate you to think about the bigger picture of business in a global atmosphere? The opportunities for your generation are endless, yet at the same time it means it's more competitive. So, always give your best!
